Performance
Every model in the newest Discovery SUV lineup features an automatic nine-speed transmission and four-wheel-drive, which includes hill descent control. Discovery has a standard ground clearance of 8.2 inches. However, the SUV rises to 11 inches when planning on traversing more challenging terrain. Adding the appropriate tow package enables the vehicle to pull up to 8,200 pounds.
Entry-level S and R-Dynamic models have standard turbocharged 2.0-liter engines that deliver 296 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque. But, a turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 engine is an option at the R-Dynamic level and standard in higher trim level models. The larger motor features a mild hybrid system and generates 355 horsepower and 368 pound-feet of torque for Kissimmee drivers to enjoy.
Design
The Discovery has an elegant but aggressive look secondary to the sharply angled front and rear lighting, sizable rounded, rectangular mesh grille, and engine vents. Smooth curves, subtle character lines, lower-body sculpts, and high-cut flared wheel wells add aesthetic appeal to the SUV's overall boxy appearance.
All-around tinted windows protect the cabin's interior and all occupants from the sun's harmful rays. Each trim level offers unique features, including the top-of-the-line Metropolitan Edition. The elite models available near Plant City have an upgraded grille and black brake calipers, while titanium mesh accents the interior.
All of our Discovery models also come equipped with Wade Sense, which uses sensors mounted on the exterior side mirrors to alert the driver about the depth of water features when fording.
